Mindbody Pilates, was created by our Director, Venecia Hernández. For over 9 years, she has been inspiring us to help promote the Pilates method.
Joseph Pilates emigrated to New York City and opened a gym with his wife. The studio attracted dancers and acrobats, who became some of his first students.

Joseph Pilates stopped teaching in New York in 1966. However, he continued to develop his work, drawing from his own strong personal experiences in fitness.
Joseph Hubertus Pilates was born in 1883. He was the creator of the Pilates method, one of he most important figures in physical and mental development.
