The Pilates method

The Pilates method, based on the principles and teachings of Joseph Pilates, is an innovative exercise system that aims to transform the way our body functions in daily activities. This approach focuses on developing strength, core stability, balance, flexibility, proprioception, and mental concentration. One of the distinctive features of Pilates is its emphasis on the quality of movement rather than quantity.

Instructors often use verbal cues and teach aspects such as breathing, rhythmic inhalation and exhalation during exercise, as well as proper body alignment.

Joseph Pilates, the creator of the Pilates method, was born in Germany in 1883. During his youth, he dedicated himself to the study of various disciplines such as gymnastics, yoga, and anatomy. Later, he emigrated to England and then to the United States, where he founded his first Pilates studio in New York.

Most people start with Mat Pilates, which is the foundation of the program created by Joseph Pilates, and then progress to using Pilates apparatus such as the reformer, Cadillac, Wunda chair, and springboard. In our studio, we offer classes specifically designed for beginners in this discipline, with the guidance of certified instructors.
