Dua Lipa, body control and a visible transformation

Dua Lipa did not start her career as a “natural” dancer. Early on, she received criticism for the way she moved on stage. Her physical presence did not match what many expected from a pop star.

What matters is what she chose to do next.

Instead of copying others or forcing a style that was not hers, she focused on training her body from a different place. She worked on her posture, control and stage presence, understanding that moving better does not mean moving more, but moving with intention.

Over time, Dua Lipa has openly shared that she trains consistently and that Pilates is a key part of her routine. Not only as physical conditioning, but as a way to support her body through tours, rehearsals and demanding performances.

From the perspective of the method developed by Joseph Pilates, this makes complete sense. Center control, body organization and movement awareness allow the body to respond without collapsing under pressure.

She has taken this interest further by integrating Pilates into personal projects and lifestyle collaborations. Not to look stronger, but to move with greater confidence, presence and stability.

And the change is noticeable. Not because the choreography is more complex, but because her body now supports her. Movement looks clearer, steadier and more grounded. When the body is organized, presence naturally changes.

This reflects a core Pilates principle. When movement comes from control rather than tension, the body stops compensating and feels lighter, both during a session and in everyday life.

In Mindbody, we understand movement as a long term care tool. We adapt each session so your body can strengthen in a safe, conscious and sustainable way.
